Review: Breaking Bad Final Season, Episode “Rabid Dog”

Rating: Don’t wait, watch whatever way possible!

Summary: The music and camera shots for the opener had been more dark and dramatic, to mirror the hard choice confronting Walter White. The episode had picked up with Walter discovering Pinkman’s car at his home. To conceal the dangerous circumstance from his family, Walt had called in a cleaning crew to remove the gasoline from the soaking carpet. After returning home, Walter Jr. had confronted Walt with, “Why can’t you just tell the truth?” Like the carpet of his home, Walt had no longer been able to deny the realty to Skylar. That harsh reality had been to deal with Jesse Pinkman, “once and for all.” Drawing out “the Eisenberg” persona, Sal had floated the same idea with an “Old Yeller” metaphor. The irony of the situation, Jesse had been told reasons why Walt really likes him. However, Jesse’s addiction had clouded his perception with so much paranoia, accidently forcing Mr. White to make “the call.” The contrast for all darkness and drama, had been the innocence and love of Walt Jr. worrying about his father’s health. The “Rabid Dog” episode had confirmed the motivations behind the ensuing conflict between Walter and his protégé. The question for the audience had been, how much longer before the bloody resolution?
